Are you or someone you know aged 17-25 and have been impacted by meningitis? If so, we have a Believe & Achieve event for you!
- When: Tuesday 24 January, 7-8.30pm
- Where: ONLINE!
- Who: 17--25 year olds directly or indirectly affected by meningitis
- What: B&A Online: Worries
January can be a difficult time of the year with the mixture of darker nights, cold and money concerns. Our mood can get low and stress increase. We see lots of people around us worrying due to the finances and changes in the job market and this can impact us in a variety of ways. But does an experience of meningitis also make us more likely to worry? Can fatigue, headaches, and other after-effects make us feel low?
This session will be a discussion on low mood and worries and what tips and support might be helpful. As it is Believe & Achieve, we will include a couple of activities, however, this session will be very different to our social as it will be more information based. There will also be opportunities for you to share your experience around the impact of meningitis on your worries and low mood if you’re comfortable doing so. This session will be very different to our social as it will be more informative and less activity social based.
It will be hosted by Becky Hartwell and Caroline Lyons, one of nurses from the Helpline team.
Make sure you book quickly as spaces will be limited. Although in B&A we usually cater for 11-25 year olds for this event we will only be able to accept sign ups from 17-25 year olds, however, there are also online events in January for 11-17 year olds.
Sign up below or if you want to find out more first email Becky on Believe&Achieve@meningitisnow.org.
“I thought the format would change the atmosphere of the event but I got the same run of emotions I get at in-person events. We got to talk through issues, be motivational and have fun without worry too.”
