Our mental health and emotional well-being are just as important as our physical health. In fact, it is impossible to talk about one without the other.
Meningitis affects people's mental health in many different ways, including high levels of stress and anxiety.
Our recent coronavirus impact survey highlighted that as many as three-quarters of people who have had a meningitis experience struggle at some point with their mental health and emotional well-being.
This online session is for adults aged 18 and over, whose experience of meningitis has affected their mental health and emotional well-being. This session is for anyone who is experiencing a range of common mental health problems including stress, low mood and anxiety, and will be facilitated by Director of Research & Support Bev Corbett and Helpline & Information Manager Claire Donovan.
Our Keep Connected - Let's Talk About Meningitis and Mental Health session will focus on:
- sharing experiences, thoughts and feelings as everyone has mental health
- increasing awareness and understanding around mental health and how it can affect us
- making positive choices about our mental health and emotional well-being
- accessing timely and appropriate professional help and support
