May Mayhem

Thank you to everyone who caused Mayhem for us in 2018!

May Mayhem 2017
We are very grateful to everyone who took part in May Mayhem 2018. From Irwin Mitchell's feather boa-wearing cracker-off to Mechline's biscuit dunking challenge - we had it all!
"We have had a wonderful month of Mayhem with a fun activity every week throughout the month. There was a dress-down day, Royal Wedding tea party, raffle, World Cup sweepstake and ice cream sale. We also got to know our Partners / Senior Associates better as they provided quirky facts for a 'Guess Who' quiz! We are thrilled to continue to support Meningitis Now and the vital work they do raising awareness of the disease and also supporting those who have been affected. We are already looking forward to next year!"

- Julie Marsh, Boyes Turner

May Mayhem is all about having fun in the workplace whilst helping to raise vital funds for Meningitis Now. The idea is simple - organise as many office activities in the month of May as you can and collect donations from everyone taking part.

Whether it’s office Olympics or moustache mayhem, a 31 day challenge or baking up a storm, May Mayhem is the perfect opportunity to get the whole workplace involved and we have lots of ideas to spark inspiration!

In return you will receive:

  • A dedicated account executive to support you with your fundraising
  • Meningitis Now fundraising materials
  • Your very own online Fundraising page
  • A certificate to recognise your fundraising efforts

Entry for 2019 will open in April next year; keep an eye on this page for further details.

How it all began

May Mayhem is the brainchild of two families, the Hobsons and the Glynns, who were brought together through their own experiences of meningitis. Sadly, the Glynn family lost their daughter in 2011, aged 19 months, while the daughter of the Hobson family is a meningitis survivor who spent 2 weeks in intensive care after she contracted the illness in 2008. Both families pledged to raise awareness and vital funds for those affected by the cruel disease, and came up with the idea of holding a fundraising event whereby participants set their own challenges for the duration of May. Based on the success of the first May Mayhem, Alison Hobson kindly gave permission for Meningitis Now to launch it as an official annual event.
