Clara would have been 10 years old this year, so her family and friends wanted to do something very special in her memory, to help raise awareness of this devastating illness.
Clara never developed the rash, so it is very important to her family and friends that as many people as possible are aware that they mustn't wait for the rash.
Clara loved to swim, and godmother April Prendergast has worked closely with Meningitis Now to develop Splash Now in her memory.
By working in partnership with the Swimming Teachers' Association and their huge network of swimming instructors, it is expected that hundreds of children and young adults will take part in Splash Now. Each of them will help to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of meningitis and raise vital funds to support families affected by meningitis now and in the future.
Clara’s family and friends truly hope that lives will be saved as a result of raising awareness and are incredibly grateful to everyone supporting this campaign.
Anyone who takes part in the event will get a special thank you directly from the Fox family.
