Walk 30 Miles in June is exactly what it says on the tin. It is free to sign up and there is no minimum fundraising pledge – raise what you can and support our work to defeat meningitis within a generation.
The challenge also provides an opportunity to take care of your physical and mental health by getting outside and exercising in the fresh summer air.
Our Fundraising Manager Kirsty Owen-Hayward said: “This is the first Facebook Challenge we have organised and we think it works well for everybody – families, friends, walking groups, dog walkers, those who enjoy getting outside and people who want to get a bit fitter, especially given the prospect of some lovely summer weather to tempt you.
Supportive online community
“And because it’s a Facebook Challenge you’ll also be part of a supportive online community who will encourage and empower you to achieve your goals. If you love Facebook and love sharing your news the simplicity of this challenge should really appeal to you.”
So, if that’s you – and we hope it is – join the Facebook group and start planning your walks!
“This is an achievable and fun activity, for all the family,” Kirsty added, “and you’ll be raising money for a great cause.”
Those taking part and joining the Facebook group can order a free Meningitis Now t-shirt. As well as raising funds to fight meningitis you’ll be able to raise invaluable awareness every time you step outdoors.
Keeping you and our communities safe is our priority, so please make sure you follow the latest Government guidelines regarding social distancing and COVID-19. Please note guidelines vary in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
