Sophie Coghlan who contracted Meningitis back in 2005, has been organising the Cider Circuit at Nailsea and Backwell Rugby Club to raise funds for Meningitis Now
The event has raised more than £1,500 for the cause and Sophie, who survived the disease as a child, also wants to raise awareness of the symptoms of meningitis.
Speaking with North Somerset Times she said: “It was a fabulous day. We managed to raise £1,570 from the event with a few donations outstanding. This will all go straight to Meningitis Now which is involved in supporting victims of meningitis and their families as well as funding vital research."
“I would like to thank everyone who supported the Cider Circuit either to take part, help out or just to enjoy the day.”
