The ceremony was held to honour people whose contribution to their employer, charity, or community made them truly exceptional. An impressive £521.69 was raised in total after donation envelopes were left on tables. Guests also watched an inspiring Meningitis Now video made especially for World Meningitis Day 2018 and featuring young Harmonie-Rose.
John Wilson, editor of Newsquest Media for Gloucestershire and Herefordshire, who sponsored the night, said, “The Pride of the Cotswolds Awards was an uplifting ceremony that celebrated all that is good about the Cotswolds and the remarkable people who live and work in the area."
“We knew the occasion would inspire our guests to help a worthwhile charity, and we chose Meningitis Now because of its local roots and its impressive campaigning about a particularly cruel and frightening illness.”
Meningitis Now CEO Dr Tom Nutt said, “Congratulations to all the Pride of the Cotswolds winners and thank you to those who donated to us on what sounds like a great night."
“All the money collected for Meningitis Now will be used to help fund our work raising awareness, helping to support those affected by meningitis, and funding further research.”
