Believe and Achieve with Laura

16th March 2018

I’m Laura, the Administrator of the Believe and Achieve Programme.  I’m here to support Becky, the programme co-ordinator, in helping you to access this amazing new service

Laura B&A blog

I live close by to our head office, with my family and a crazy little hamster that we affectionately call Dan the Ham. When I’m not chasing my kids around, I love to bake, and, not surprisingly, my favourite show is the Great British Bake Off! Who doesn’t love cake?!

I have just completed my second month in the office and I’m so happy to be here. Becky and the whole team have made me feel so welcome and have just been super lovely in general.

I’m really looking forward to getting to know you all over the coming months.  Some of you may already know, or recognise me – I worked here as a Fundraiser for 7 years, before taking a little break. Well, a 3 year break to be exact.

In my time as a fundraiser, I was lucky to meet lots of incredible families and young people through events, such as our Family Days.  This includes our Founding Young Ambassador, Alex Williams, who I know inspired the Believe and Achieve programme.  He was such a strong and passionate guy, who achieved so much and did everything with a smile.

I’m really happy that our work to help young people is continuing in Alex’s memory and hope that the programme will help many, many more of you to achieve your goals and dreams.

There’s lots of exciting work going on behind the scenes in the lead up to the launch of Believe and Achieve, so keep your eyes peeled and do make sure you have your say if you have any ideas or thoughts you’d like to share. This programme is all about you, after all, and we want you to get as much from it as possible.

In the meantime, if you’d like to chat about the programme at all and how you can get involved, feel free to drop me a message either on Facebook (Laura Williams), email: lauraw@meningitisnow.org, or by phone: 01453 769040.
