Bouncing into Christmas

7th December 2018

Faces were painted, trampolines were bounced on, snowmen were built – and even Santa put in an appearance at a special Christmas-themed Family Day for Meningitis Now in Northern Ireland

Belfast Christmas Family support Day

More than 40 children plus their parents took part in the special family event at the We Are Vertigo trampoline and activity centre in Belfast.

The day kicked off with a Christmas party with a log cabin, glittery snow and a Christmas tree in the morning, and then adventure activities and crafting took place later in the day.

All the children who took part had been impacted one way or another by meningitis – either because they have had it themselves, or because one of their close family members has.

Meningitis Now CEO Dr Tom Nutt, who attended the day along with Meningitis Now Community Support Officers Lucie Riches and Chris Mather, and Community Fundraiser Jo Wilson, said, “It was a wonderful and fun day out, and reminder of just how close the Meningitis Now family is in Northern Ireland."

“Days like this remind people how they can access the help and support of Meningitis Now and bring different families together."

“It’s this that makes Family Days so important and special”.
