The company was inspired by the tragic death of two-year-old Maidstone resident Faye Burdett in February. Faye was the daughter of one of the company’s long-term customers.
The civil engineering and groundwork material specialists, with four branches across the South East in Farnham, Horsham, Brentford and Gravesend, wanted to show their support and raise awareness of the importance of getting children vaccinated against the deadly disease.
They undertook various fundraising activities, including a sponsored walk to work day, and encouraged others to sign the online petition through their Facebook page, calling for the Meningitis B vaccine to be given to all children.
Darren Price, Group Operations Manager at Rudridge, said: “We were devastated to hear about the passing of Faye and our hearts go out to her whole family."
“We wanted to do something in her memory as well as contribute to fighting this deadly disease so other children and families can be spared from such tragedy in the future.”
Our chief executive, Liz Brown, said: “We are very grateful for Rudridge’s generous donation, which will make a difference to those whose lives have been affected by this devastating disease.”
