A huge thank you to our supporters at Ace Liftaway, who ran a relay race on Sunday 17 April to help raise funds for us. Their commitment and training allowed them to gather over £300 in sponsorship money
Ten runners each took on the challenge of completing a 2.6 mile leg of the relay to clock up the 26 miles of the marathon. Fair weather and an excellent turn out of teams and spectators made the day a great success.
The batons were chipped so that each runner could record their personal time and over 60 teams took part in the event, creating a very buzzy atmosphere.
Helen Liddell, who took part in the event and was our inspiration to raise money after her meningitis experience, said “I was really pleased I was able to take part in the relay marathon; thank you for the opportunity to raise money for such a great cause. As fun as it was, I don’t think I’ll be running a full marathon any time soon!”
