And last week they presented our volunteer Community Ambassador Anne Cadden with a massive cheque for a brilliant £6,613.
The timber manufacturing company, who are based in Mold in North Wales, chose to support our work in memory of one of their colleagues, Daniel, who sadly lost his life to the disease. Their fundraising efforts during the year included challenging sports events such as the Ironman Poland triathlon and the Manchester Marathon to less gruelling activities including an It’s a Knockout Challenge, cake sales and the Rhyl Community of Schools Triathlon.
Close to our hearts
Abi Dodwell, from the P&A Group of Companies, said: “We chose Meningitis Now as our charity of the year in memory of one of our own and hold this charity very close to our hearts.
“We are delighted to announce that we have made our target with the help of Ysgol Llywelyn and other participating schools in the Rhyl Community of Schools Triathlon, who raised an amazing £3,250!”
Meningitis Now Director of Fundraising, Beth Bottrill, added: “This money will have a significant impact on our work and for those that have had their lives devastated by this brutal disease. Thank you P&A and everyone involved for joining us in our fight against meningitis.’’
