Sunday 18 June is Father’s day, and what could be better than having a summer stroll along Morecambe Bay and raising money in the process!
Meningitis Now are hosting their annual walk across the golden sands of Morecambe bay, guided by Cedric Robinson, the official Queen’s Guide to the sands!
The walk stretches for approximately eight miles and is suitable for all the family from grandparents to children – you can even bring the dog along! This beautiful and exhilarating walk leads you from the shore at Arnside to Kent’s Bank, accompanied at all times by a team of expert Bay Guides, led by Cedric.
The walk will take approximately three to four hours to complete, and really is an unforgettable experience and a perfect activity for a summer's day.
Carrie Bater, Community Fundraiser for Meningitis Now said: “Our Morecambe Bay walk is a great day out! With this year’s walk being held on Father’s day, it really is the perfect excuse for the whole family to get together and enjoy a stroll – hopefully in the sun!
“Meningitis affects so many people, so this is a great way for you and your family to join together and raise money to help other families affected by the disease.”
Registration fees of £7.50 per adult, £5 per child, and £1 per dog are requested, and additional sponsorship for your walk would be very much appreciated. We can also help with fundraising materials such as collection tins. Register now, or for further information contact Carrie.
