The iconic Concorde holds a special place in many people’s hearts and now you can have the opportunity to get up close to this talismanic plane at a unique fundraising event – which will also help us fight back against meningitis

Tickets for a Charity Dine and Dance under Concorde include the opportunity to walk around the inside of the plane and chat to former Concorde staff.

As well as a welcome drink, three course meal and dancing to top band 247 Live, the event features a massive tombola, bar and some promised surprises!

It all takes place at Aerospace Bristol in Patchway on Saturday 16 October from 6.30pm and tickets cost just £65 per person.

The Meningitis Family

The event has been organised by The Meningitis Family, the group that was formed following the untimely deaths of George Zographou, 18, in 2017 and Margaret Wells, 68, in 2018, both from meningitis.

Margaret’s husband Peter said: “The loss of these two very loved people devastated both families, and started us, initially separately, in raising funds for the two meningitis charities, Meningitis Research Foundation and Meningitis Now.

“In 2020 we joined together to form The Meningitis Family, which creates events throughout the year, to raise funds for both and bring awareness to as many people as possible on how devastating meningitis and septicaemia can be.

Support each other

“Our other long-term goal is to bring together other families who have been touched or lost relatives to this illness, so that we can support each other's fundraising events and ideas, be support for those who need someone, and let the world know what this disease can do.

“We are also working to bring forward, as quickly as possible, an increase in the number of vaccines available throughout the world to eradicate this killer disease once and for all.”

A big difference

Our Fundraising Officer Leah Wynn said: “We’re so grateful to Peter and everyone involved with The Meningitis Family for everything they are doing to raise funds to fight meningitis and raise awareness. Their ongoing energy and enthusiasm will make a big difference as we look to defeat meningitis in the UK within a generation.

“We wish them well with this special event and everything else they are organising.”
