Fundraising for Fleur-Rose

6th April 2019

Fundraisers held an incredibly poignant fourth birthday party for a little girl who died of meningitis three years ago

Fundraising for Fleur

Little Fleur-Rose, from Bridgnorth in Shropshire, lost her life very suddenly within 24 hours of falling ill in 2016. Since then family friends and other members of her community have rallied round to help raise an amazing £27,000 for Meningitis Now.

And this year, as well as running in the London Marathon on 28 April, brothers Nick and Chris Wright – the Wright brothers – decided to hold a fourth birthday party to honour the little girl and make the final push towards their personal goal of £4,000.

Nick – one half of the Wright brothers – said the birthday had been a great success.

“Our evening was amazing, everyone had a fantastic night and we raised stacks of cash,” he said.

“The live music, DJ, food and raffle were amazing. We raised £2,300 on the night on raffle and bingo tickets and £1,300 online so we are over the moon!"

“2019 would have been Fleur’s fourth birthday and we feel it only right that we should have one last push to raise awareness for this fantastic charity, which helps not only people who are suffering from meningitis but also those who are affected by this terrible disease”.

Other fundraisers that Fleur-Rose’s supporters have taken part in include a toddle waddle, bike rides, and a 230 mile walk from Bristol to Wales.
