If you’ve made it your mission this year to take exercise to a new level, we’re here to help with our brand new Training Hub
Each guide contains a training plan for you to follow over a number of weeks, tailored to your current ability, as well as everything that you need to know about nutrition and hydration, what kit to look for, and preparing for a race.
And you certainly won’t be going it alone: even our CEO Tom Nutt has started following our training guide for marathon distance as he prepares for the 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon!
All the guides in our Training Hub have been written exclusively by Meningitis Now’s resident personal trainer and Web Editor Rachel Oakley, who has progressed her running ability from complete novice to marathon distance in the space of three years.
“Whether you’ve never run or cycled before, are returning to exercise after an extended period or are looking to better your time for a particular distance, we have the guide for you”, said Rachel. “There are even videos to help you warm up and cool down either side of an exercise session. We’ve literally got it all covered.”
So, why not step into January with one of our guides? You can even raise money as you go by combining your exercise venture with one of our fantastic fundraising events. Starting from scratch? Tell January to Jog On with the Couch to 5k guide; if you run 50k in 50 days and raise £50 we’ll reward your efforts with an awesome medal. Got a ballot or Meningitis Now charity place in the 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon? Follow our marathon guide from this week all the way up to the big day. Or, get on your bike for the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 with our 100-mile cycle guide!
