The much-loved event returns for its 33rd outing, following a beautiful 21-mile route through the Five Valleys around our Head Office in Stroud in Gloucestershire.
Parts of the route are steep and to take on the whole walk is a challenge, even for those who walk regularly, but the beauty of our Five Valleys Walk is that you don’t have to do the full circuit.
Take the courtesy bus
Instead, you can pick which of the stages you do, starting and finishing at any of our eight checkpoints. Then, when you’ve had enough, pop on a courtesy bus, which will deliver you back to your starting point. And with lots of eating and drinking outlets on the way round you won’t go hungry or thirsty either.
Last year nearly 2,000 joined in, raising over £50,000 towards our lifesaving and life-changing work in the process. With your support it would be good to at least match that this year. Bring your friends too. The walk is particularly suitable for groups, so why not round up your colleagues from your office or workplace to join in and make a day out of it?
Something for everyone
“This walk has something for everyone and has sections which are suitable for all ages and abilities,” said Meningitis Now community fundraiser and event organiser Leah Wynn. “It will be lovely to welcome back our regular walkers from near and far and of course everyone who wants to join them – the more the merrier.”
