Family and friends will be getting on their bikes again for a picturesque cycle ride in memory of a Jersey man who tragically died from meningitis
David, who lived in St Helier for 18 years, died in May 2014, aged 47.
Bianca, seen in our cycling top in the attached photo, now lives in St Clement on the island. She will lead off the convoy of cyclists from Good Companies in St Clement at 10am and around the north coast of the island on Sunday 13 May.
She hopes the memorial cycle ride, first organised last year to commemorate what would have been David’s 50th birthday, will become an annual event, to be staged around the time of his birthday on 12 May.
“David loved cycling, and particularly the north coast”, Bianca said, “so to celebrate his life we’ll be going there again to raise money for Meningitis Now and to help them fight back against this devastating disease. We also want to raise awareness that meningitis can affect anyone of any age and is not just a disease that targets babies and young children”, Bianca added. Please sponsor us if you can and if anyone wants to join us on the day then you’re very welcome - please get in touch.”
Bianca can be contacted on bianca_lohan@hotmail.com and be sponsored on her charity fundraising page.
