The turkey’s finished, the mince pies devoured, and now you’re starting to look a bit like a pudding yourself - what better a way to get through the coming months than signing up to Jog On January?
Jog On Meningitis is our super-easy fundraising event because you can do it your way. Whether you pound the pavements around your home town, stride out on a treadmill, or join an organised running club you can chose how and when you take part. All we ask is that you cover 50km in total over the course of 50 days – and it doesn’t matter if that means doing one kilometre a day or a total of two marathons over the entire period.
Every penny you raise for us will go towards helping people who have been affected by meningitis, including going into our soon-to-be-announced new Rebuilding Futures Fund.
One supporter who took up the Jog On challenge when it was launched last year was Jenny Campbell – who completed her 50k five years to the day since she was diagnosed with viral meningitis. Jenny, who had previously been diagnosed with the disease, said she used running to help with her recovery and had already ran the Edinburgh 10k for us. In total, between the 10k and her Jog On 50k, she raised an amazing £1,000 for Meningitis Now.
“I would encourage anyone to take part in the 50ks50days challenge,” she said. “Even on bad days a 1k walk can make all the difference to how you feel!”
