We’re inviting children from Wales with an experience of meningitis to join us for a free Family Day next month
It takes place on Saturday 12 September at Manor House Wildlife Park (Anna’s Welsh Zoo) in St Florence, near Tenby, from 10.30am until 4pm.
On offer will be a Zookeepers Tour of the Park as well as some other activities not available to the general public, and the chance to take part in an art workshop.

You can take a walking safari through the wallaby enclosure and sit with the baby lemurs in the lemur walk-though experience. There will also be gibbons, rhinos and the recently-arrived tiger.
The whole family can join in with the range of activities throughout the day and refreshments and lunch will be provided.
Great way to share experiences
Ffion Haf, our Community Support Officer in Wales, said: “Family days are a great way for families to join together, share similar experiences and have fun."
“Best of all they give the children affected the chance to interact with others who may have had similar experiences to them in a safe environment.”
The day, supported by Children in Need, gives parents and grandparents the opportunity to meet other families from the area who have been affected, and find out more about the support we can offer.
You can choose to join in the activities with the children or spend time chatting informally with other parents or our staff.
Huge effect on family members
“We know that the impact of meningitis reaches much further than the individual concerned” Ffion added. “It can have a huge effect on family members and friends."
“Meningitis changes lives and futures, which is why bringing together families with similar experiences of the disease is so important."
“Having a fun day with your family may seem a small thing, but when your family has lived through the trauma of meningitis together, it means so much.”
Places will be filled on a ‘first come first served’ basis. To find out more about the day or to register to attend contact Ffion Haf on 0345 120 4597 or email ffionh@meningitisnow.org
