But fear not, because we’ve been lucky enough to secure 15 more places for the super-popular Kew Gardens 10k.
Part of the Richmond Running festival, the event takes place this September in the grounds of the famous World Heritage site that is Kew Gardens in the west of London. Entering the run includes free entry to the gardens for runners and their families. With a registration fee of only £10 (plus a minimum fundraising pledge of just £150), this is an excellent event for anyone who wants to take on their first run for Meningitis Now.
More places added
Our Events Manager Kirsty Owen-Hayward said that as this was a brand-new event for the charity, she had not realised how popular it would be when we first launched it in December.
“Initially we only offered ten places as this is a completely new event for us so we had no idea how it would go,” she said.
“But those ten places were snapped up really quickly so we decided to get in while we could and claim a few more spots for our supporters.
“We know how popular they are now, so if you are interested I would say contact us as soon as possible before they all go.”
Kirsty told us that one of the reasons the race has proved so popular was that it was the only one we know of that takes place inside an iconic tourist attraction – and it also offers the flattest course of any 10k in or near London!
“Another bonus is that it has the poshest baggage area you can imagine – inside the Nash Conservatory,” she added.
“Only two of these were ever built and the other one is at Buckingham Place!”
As with all our running events, Meningitis Now provides a top package including branded running tops, plus support for your training and fundraising needs every step of the way.
So if all this appeals to you – don’t hesitate, get in touch and soon you could be on your way to Kew Gardens!
