We have joined forces with bmi Regional to launch a scenic 5 mile walk on Sunday 10th April, passing some of Bristol’s most vibrant and unique attractions.

The new, annual event will allow participants to take in the unique scenery of the area, starting at @Bristol, passing by the Avon Gorge Hotel and ending back at the Slug and Lettuce in Millennium Square.

Paul Hobbs, on of our long standing supporters, has helped us develop the event and will be donning his walking boots as he takes part in the walk.

“I’m delighted to be joining forces with Steve Dayman again, especially as the charity embarks on its 30th anniversary, celebrating 30 years of incredible achievements.”

“This event will be a great day out for families and work colleague, as well as keen hikers and runners looking to take on a new challenge.”

The event launches as part of our 30th Anniversary celebrations, remembering monumental achievements and all those who have been affected by this devastating disease.

“It’s such an achievement to reach 30 years after starting as a small group of parents in the Stonehouse area, but it’s only been made possible because of all our supporters and those who have selflessly joined our fight over the years."

“This new event will be a great way to mark our anniversary celebrations and I’m really looking forward to taking on the challenge with Paul. I hope that all our supporter’s get on board, putting their best foot forward to raise lifesaving funds!”

Steve Dayman, Meningitis Now founder

“As a local employer and supporter of the community, bmi regional has long been impressed and humbled by the Meningitis Now charity. We are delighted to continue our support with the sponsorship of the Bristol Harbourside Walk….but unlike the walkers at the event there are no tired feet onboard bmi regional flights!”

Jochen Schnadt, Chief Commercial Officer at bmi
