Peterborough mum’s Toddle Waddle sets the pace

10th August 2015

The ‘Under the Sea’ themed event, organised by Jenna Laud, 23, of Peterborough, has raised more than £2,000 for Meningitis Now

Toddle Waddle
Jenna organised the event, which took place at Ferry Meadows Country Park , after her 15-weeks-old daughter, Polly, was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis in 2013.

A number of those involved in the walk had also previously experienced meningitis.

“It was a brilliant turn out and we were amazed at the generosity from everybody who donated. The atmosphere was brilliant and the children and adults thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”

“If our event helps raise awareness for even one family then we have made a huge achievement.”

“Sadly, babies, toddlers and children under five are most at risk of contracting meningitis - more than half of all cases are within this age group.”

“Toddle Waddle is hugely popular with our supporters all over the UK, especially mums and their little ones. It raises vital funds for the charity every year.”

“Jenna has done a fantastic job; I’d like to thank her and everyone else that participated in the waddle. Support from events like Jenna’s means that we can undertake vital research into crucial vaccines and increase awareness of meningitis and its symptoms.”
