Supporter takes on picturesque

5th August 2015

Lotus, 29 of Guildford, Surrey, is running the stunning Royal Parks Half Marathon for Meningitis Now after misdiagnosis meant she ‘unexpectedly’ lost her young cousin, Marie Biscocho, to meningitis

“I’ve never run for a cause I’ve felt connected to, so when I came across Meningitis Now – I knew this was the charity I wanted to run for.”

“It was unexpected and devastating to lose Marie, aged only 23, in March 2014.”

“She was misdiagnosed, but I admit I’d never heard of meningitis and know many people who are unaware too.”

"If people learnt the symptoms and protocol – we could prevent losing more lives to the deadly disease – this is why I support Meningitis Now.”

“While training, I’m spreading the word about meningitis and trying my best to fundraise for the wonderful organisation.”

“I’m looking forward to running this picturesque course while helping to beat the awful disease.”
