A Gloucestershire-based company is rolling out the red carpet and hosting right royal revelries to defeat a deadly disease

Telecoms company Lister Unified Communications of Stonehouse is launching a mobile phone recycling scheme for us and kicking the partnership off with one of our Time 4 Tea events, which this year has a royal theme.

Staff will wear royal outfits for a party at their offices on Friday 4 September, and take part in competitions whilst enjoying tea and cake, and raising money to fund pioneering preventative research, lifesaving awareness and support work.

“The right royal tea party seemed like an excellent way to launch the charity mobile phone recycling scheme that will begin in September and that we have partnered with Meningitis Now to deliver."

“We believe this is a great way to get the message out to our clients, partners and the local community that we are taking in all second-hand mobile phones, both from an environmental perspective but also a charitable one, to raise money for this worthy cause.”

Richard Snell, Marketing Manager at Lister Unified Communications

Cake sale and cake auction

On the day the company will raise money through a themed royal costume day in the office which its 29 staff will take part in. There will be a cake sale and cake auction, as well as a social media auction for a brand new table football table.

Special mobile phone recycling bins will be located in the offices at Lister Unified Communications, our offices and other venues to be confirmed.

“Please let us have your old unwanted mobiles, the more people donate the more money we can raise for this brilliant charity”.

Richard Snell

“We’re really grateful that Lister Communications has chosen to support us in this way and give something back within their local community."

“Many of those working there remember the impact meningitis had in the Stonehouse and Stroud area as they were growing up."

“We hope they will have fun fundraising to fight the disease.”

Sally Gillespie,  Senior Community Fundraiser
