The London Marathon is such an inspiring and amazing event – and every year our Team Tangerine comes up trumps again in supporting us
The event raised £63.7 million, breaking the record for the most amount of money raised for charities for the 12th year running, and race starters numbered 41,003 and finishers 40,272, making it the fourth largest marathon in the world.
As far as Meningitis Now was concerned, our runners raised a massive £215,000 for us last year. We’re hoping for at least that again this year - and you can be part of the team helping us to achieve that.
Don’t be a lonely long distance runnerIf you have been successful in getting your own place in the ballot for places you can run for us and join our (almost) 100 strong team.
There are big advantage of being part of Team Tangerine; you don’t have to put up with the loneliness of the long distance runner as a team of one for starters!
Being a part of Team Meningitis Now means that you will receive:
- your own personalised technical running top;
- a huge welcome at our post-race reception; drinks, snacks, a shower and sports massage all await you near the finish line (friends and family are also welcome);
- training and fundraising support and materials; and
- a dedicated Events Fundraiser to help you every step of the way.
And, there’s no minimum amount you have to raise.
So, if you are one of the lucky few to secure your own place and would like to run for us we’d love to have you.
Our Senior Events Fundraiser, Kirsty Hayward-Owen, said, “In exchange for your fundraising and running efforts we’ll offer you one of the best support packages around, providing you with everything you need before, during and after the race. We look forward to welcoming you to Team Tangerine.”
