More than 60 guests spiced up their lives at a thrilling quiz in Cheltenham to help Meningitis Now’s very own Individual Giving and Marketing Officer raise money for her London Landmarks Half Marathon

Crissy Spice Girls quiz to fundraise for Meningitis Now London Landmarks

The Spice Girls quiz night, set in the beautiful space that is Café Rouge on Cheltenham’s promenade, was organised by Crissy Spice and her mum Karen – who will also be taking on the London run next march to raise money for Meningitis Now.

Crissy said the quiz had been a roaring success and she and Karen had absolutely smashed their fundraising target, raising a total of £600 throughout the course of the evening.

Not only was the event support by a wide selection of their friends, family and colleagues but also by Café Rouge and a number of other local business who donated raffle prizes. This included Molton Brown Cheltenham, who donated a wonderful gift set, and Battle Bootcamp Cheltenham with a month’s free membership.

“The quiz itself comprised of six rounds including a Christmas themed picture round and an always popular music round,” said Crissy.

“I was absolutely thrilled with the success of the evening, everyone was so joyful and friendly rivalry was at an all-time high!”

Grateful

For Crissy this was her first fundraising event hosted on behalf of the charity Meningitis Now. “It was so lovely to finally have the opportunity to share with my close friends and family a little bit about what I do at work and do my part on behalf of the charity to raise money and importantly, raise awareness,” she said.

“I am in a unique position where I really know how significant £600 is to our organisation and the individuals and families we support. I hope people saw how grateful I was.” She added that comments from guests following the event reiterated this, saying they were particularly moved with how confident and passionate Crissy was in talking about the importance of the evening.

Crissy and Karen are going to continue fundraising, but with their target reached they will now start concentrating on training for the London Landmarks Half Marathon. Although both have previous running experience, they are keen to reach new goals and really do their best on behalf of the charity. So watch this space and we look forward to seeing them on the other side of the finish line!
