Steps in the right direction for Lel after meningitis

Andy Hopkinson | 28th July 2022

Dancing is certainly proving a step in the right direction for one meningitis sufferer, as her recovery continues

Lel finds recovery in dance after meningitis

Lel was struck down with meningitis in April 2020. For her rehabilitation she decided to take up dancing.

Lel told us: “I have discovered dancing is not just about keeping fit. It’s great for lifting your spirit, whether it’s grief, depression or a serious illness. It has also helped with my memory.

“I hope that dance can be a great inspiration to others as it is to me.

Blessed and grateful

“I feel very blessed and grateful to have had the perfect recovery programme and I hope others who have had this disease can turn something frightening and debilitating into something good.”

Watch Lel as she dances a cha cha cha:

We hope to bring you further videos of Lel’s dancing in the future. Meanwhile, read more of her meningitis story here and here.
