Superhero Harmonie

18th March 2019

Congratulations Harmonie-Rose – what a star!

Harmonie-Rose completes Bath Half marathon

Many of you will have seen the news footage from the weekend of Harmonie-Rose crossing the finish line of the Bath Half Marathon on her prosthetic legs after being one of the first children to ever take part in the race.

Harmonie-Rose, who has only just started school, took it all in her stride – or rather in her aunt Hannah Hall’s stride, who was one of the team of seven who pushed the five-year-old round the course in her wheelchair.

News footage of Harmonie-Rose crossing the line was beamed around the world and will be a massive inspiration to people everywhere living with the after-effects of meningitis. It was also a wonderful curtain raiser to the upcoming World Meningitis Day on 24 April, which has a theme of Life After Meningitis. Look out for more information about this in the coming weeks.

But this weekend belonged to Harmonie-Rose. Well done, everyone here at Meningitis Now is proud of you!
