Tasha’s Three Peaks Challenge

24th January 2016

Our Press and Communications Officer, Tasha, took on one of our toughest challenges to help raise vital funds for us

Tasha does Three Peaks
Tasha signed up for the challenge of climbing the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in September, just three weeks before the event.

“We set off early Friday morning and completed the challenge Saturday evening. It was extremely tough, both mentally and physically, but I’m so proud to have completed it. The feeling of elation and achievement at the top of each summit was incredible.”

“Everyone had their own reasons for taking part, and if anytime I felt I couldn’t go on, there was always someone there to motivate and encourage me. I met some extremely inspirational people and we were accompanied by a brilliant safety team who helped us along every step of the way.”

“It’s an experience I will never forget and one that I’d recommend to anyone. After being so involved with charity and the event behind the scenes, it was great to be a part of the action, meeting our supporters and getting pitched in.”

The challenge saw a team of 25 participants and a 10-strong safety team scale Scafell Pike, Snowden and Ben Nevis within 36 hours.

“It was a great weekend and I’d like to congratulate everyone that took part – they all did amazingly. I’d also like to say a big thank you to our safety team, who volunteer their time each year to ensure these events run smoothly – we could not complete the challenge without them.”

“This year we raised an incredible £25,000 and are hoping to raise even more in June on our next Three Peaks Challenge.”
