We’d like to wish everyone who’s running in the Milton Keynes Marathon and Half Marathon for us on Monday (6 May) the best of luck for the even
This is the second year that Rightmove runners have supported us and helped raise money and awareness for us – thank you.
Thousands of runners will be taking part in the events on the Sunday and Monday. The full and half marathons both feature a fantastic stadium finish and the half marathon was voted the best half marathon in the UK last year by Women’s Running Magazine. There’s also a relay event and a 5K running challenge, as well as a superhero themed fun run for the whole family.
Rightmove pledged their support to us after one of their colleagues, Phil Bates, lost his son Joshua to meningitis in 2016. Phil, and his wife Anne-Marie, took on the running challenge last year and Anne-Marie will be back for more as part of the team on Monday.
Supported the familyJoshua Bates was just eight months old when he lost his fight against meningitis, and during the time that followed, Meningitis Now supported the family and has continued to do so ever since.

Matt Stephenson, our Corporate Fundraiser, said: “We really appreciate the support from Phil and Anne-Marie, and everyone at Rightmove, and wish them well for the run."
“The Milton Keynes Marathon gives us a great opportunity to raise awareness about meningitis and the work of our charity.”
If you’re in the area next Monday – the early May Bank Holiday – why not go along and cheer them on their way?
