Passionate about Corporate Social Responsibility, the companies have chosen to support Meningitis Now after one of their recruitment consultants lost her brother to meningitis.
Lucy Neal, Marketing and Contractor Care Manager at Trust in Soda, Broadgate Search and BioTalent said, “We really wanted to partner with a charity that is close to our hearts, and this seemed like the perfect charity to work with, as Meningitis Now has helped one of our employees.”
As part of May Mayhem, Trust in Soda, Broadgate Search and BioTalent are contributing 5% of all invoices to three charities, including Meningitis Now. In addition to this, staff have been asked to take part in one charitable event to help raise even more funds.
Planned events include skydives, Tough Mudder, cake-offs, a staff Guess the Baby photo competition, a charity ball, a pub quiz, and a hat day – the crazier the hat the better!
Trust in Soda, Broadgate Search and BioTalent also held a ‘Women in DevOps’ event in aid of Meningitis Now, with guest speakers from Sony, Deliveroo and Improbable. Meningitis Now Community Ambassador Mary Garley also shared her personal meningitis story, talking about the tragic loss of her granddaughter Maisie.
Lucy said, “We really wanted to give something back to the charity, especially after meeting Mary Garley (Meningitis Now Community Ambassador), and hearing her story, which inspired us even more to work with Meningitis Now.”
The event was founded by senior recruitment consultant Lauren Langdell, with the aim of encouraging more women into careers in technology and to educate future generations of women to enter a traditionally male dominated environment.
Trust in Soda, Broadgate Search and BioTalent aim to raise £10,000 to share between the three charities they are supporting, and are keen to work closely with Meningitis Now in the future.
Harry Gardner, Corporate Account Executive at Meningitis Now, said, “We are really excited that Trust in Soda, Broadgate Search and BioTalent are taking part in this year’s May Mayhem and supporting us.”
“May Mayhem is a great way for businesses to hold events and have fun, whilst supporting Meningitis Now to help people affected by the disease to get the support they need to rebuild their lives.”Update
