In an exclusive partnership, Turtle Tots, who have more than 50 franchisees across the UK and southern Ireland teaching 14,000 little Turtles every week, will host the ‘Splash Now’ events in classes during October.
Splash Now was launched by Meningitis Now in 2019 and Turtle Tots will be putting their very own spin on the event with some special challenges, just for their tots. The format will involve a teacher-led baby lesson sponsorship activity and a toddler lesson sponsorship activity, which will take place at the end of each lesson.
Important to our ethos
Caroline Sparks, the co-founder of Turtle Tots, said: “Charity is very important to the ethos of Turtle Tots, and every year we really enjoy hosting fun events that all our little Turtles can get involved with.
“Our parents love it too, and are always supportive of our charity events. With their continued support we are hoping to raise £25,000 this year for Meningitis Now with ‘Splash Now’.
“With our focus being on baby and infant swimming, Meningitis Now is a charity very dear to our and all our teachers’ hearts, and we were delighted when they asked if we could host this event in partnership with them.
Bring on the smiles
“Charities have suffered hard through this pandemic, so we are really looking forward to making a splash, bringing on the smiles and raising much-needed funds for Meningitis Now.”
Meningitis Now chief executive Tom Nutt said: “We’re delighted to be teaming up with Turtle Tots and we are really grateful for their support.
“This partnership will help us raise lifesaving awareness of the signs and symptoms of meningitis with the families of babies and toddlers, the group most at risk of the disease, as well as raising vital funds to support all those fighting back from it.
“With the pandemic having made such a big impact on our work, support from partnerships like this has never been more important as we look to defeat meningitis in the UK within a generation.”
Have fun and keep fit
Our Fundraising Assistant, Kat Hollywell, added: “Swimming is such a popular way for babies and toddlers to have fun, keep fit and cool down, all at the same time, and will no doubt prove extra popular following the Team GB successes in the pool at the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
“It’s a great way to raise awareness of meningitis and funds to fight it too.”
