Autumn is such a busy time for our volunteers, and this month has been no exception. We held our annual meeting and training day for our Young and Community Ambassadors in Stroud, Gloucestershire. It was a great chance to get together and share ideas.

Talks to groups

Thank you to many of you who raise awareness by telling your personal story. It’s not always an easy thing to do, but it really helps get across the impact meningitis can have, as well as raise awareness of the signs and symptoms.

This month Angela Cloke did a talk at Northampton General Hospital at an Infection Control Study Day.

Jacob Gray spoke to St John Ambulance in Southport and Sophie Coghlan to St John Ambulance Cadets in Keynsham.

Thanks very much to all of them!

Volunteer round-up

Joining us this month are Jordan Cox, Rifiat Jadwat and Hannah Slater - welcome to you all!

Brian Wraight, a recent recruit to our Head Office volunteer team, has been helping with our very busy despatch and post room. It's great to have him on board!

Thank you to Kelly Heywood, who held an awareness and information stand at the Southport Information and Support Day.

Thanks to the many volunteers who have been helping with promoting our Carol Concert at Gloucester Cathedral on 14 December, through distributing flyers and posters in the local area.

Thanks to Ian Watkinson and Franky Rogers, who volunteered at the Family Day in Newcastle - a support event for families affected by meningitis.
