Where and when?
Taking place on Wednesday 31 October 2018, in Westminster (12.45pm-3.00pm), this year’s event will be used to highlight our concerns around the perceptions that adults have about meningitis and the risk they face and, in the absence of routine vaccinations, the importance of knowing signs and symptoms. We are also keen that MPs hear personal accounts of meningitis in adults and the impact it had on their families. To achieve this and ensure that your voices are heard, we have made available a number of places for adults with who have had a meningitis experience, at this year’s reception.
Sadly numbers limited and we are unable to fund travel expenses, but if you are interested in attending please register your interest. We will notify you if you have been successful by the end of September.
As part of the ongoing campaign, we are also planning to engage with the media and we are looking for people who are willing to share their adult meningitis story. Interviews and press notes will be controlled and managed by the Meningitis Now press team. They will also ensure that people taking part are fully briefed. If you are willing to help in this way please use the same link to confirm this. Finally, as part of our efforts to increase awareness of the adults risk, we would like to publish your story on our website. In doing this you will helping others understand that they are at risk. Again use the link in the registration page to get involved in this manner.
Our ‘Adults Get it Too’ campaign is an important new initiative for the charity, so please get involved and help to protect others.
