Treatment and support

We use our expertise on after-effects and aftercare to help shape national guidelines and improve support for people affected by meningitis and related diseases.

Treatment and support

We work with the Royal Colleges, with local NHS trusts and policy makers to provide expert information on the impact meningitis has on people's lives. Our own after-effects research, MOSAIC, was recently used by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) to help inform their decision on the cost-effectiveness of the Meningitis B vaccine.

Working with health professionals and policy makers, we will continue to:

  • Provide expert evidence to ensure that policy makers and government understand the true burden of meningitis on the NHS, economy and wider society.
  • Campaign for positive change for children affected by meningitis, ensuring they receive regular Special Educational Needs (SEN) assessments.

We are committed to rebuilding lives torn apart by meningitis. Our free support services are available to anyone affected by the disease – regardless of when the experience was, or what the outcome.
