Raising awareness - can you help?

Presentations to schools, colleges and local community groups
We are working on a standardised virtual meningitis awareness presentation for our volunteers to give to schools, colleges and local community groups. We can give you technical help for your presentation over Zoom or Teams, and are happy to join you on your presentation to offer you extra support and help with any questions. Please contact us if you would like to find out more about giving virtual awareness-raising talks.

Signs and symptoms magnets for universities
One of our wonderful supporters has funded thousands of signs and symptoms fridge magnets and their postage costs. We want to have a fridge magnet in every university block we can reach. Please use your university contacts to help us get these vital awareness-raising materials out there. If you have access to someone in a university who can help distribute them, please let us know and we will send them out.

Awareness-raising through social media
At this time of year it is vital that people don't mistake their meningitis symptoms for Covid-19 and self-isolate. We have a range of digital awareness-raising messages we can send you to share on Instagram, Twitter and your own Facebook page. We also have a powerful, five minute movie that you can show before virtual events.

Email us at volunteering@meningitisnow.org or give us a call on 01453 769 033 if you would like any more information, or if you can help. We would love to hear from you and send you materials to use.

Become a Community Volunteer

“I am a passionate believer in what Meningitis Now is doing and about helping to spread awareness of this disease. Sometimes it can be very difficult and very emotional too, but it’s worth it. The respect that goes with volunteering helps make life feel positive.”  Damion - Community Volunteer

“I volunteer in many ways; distributing literature, attending awareness fairs, promoting and assisting with Toddle Waddle events, London Marathon and more. Volunteering is my therapy. I gain so much from it and I always try to be there when I am needed.”  Mary - Community Ambassador
