Current opportunities

Can you help?

We are looking for meeters and greeters, cheerers and photographers at all of our 2019 events. Feel the excitement and buzz by volunteering on the day:

  • Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 - Sunday 4 August
  • Simplyhealth Great North Run - Sunday 8 September
  • Five Valleys Walk (Meningitis Now's flagship event) - Sunday 29 September
We are also asking for volunteers to order information leaflets for some of these events and distribute them around your local areas - perhaps at local coffee shops, libraries, community centres... anywhere you can think of! Contact us to order leaflets.

National Citizen Service summer programme talks

The NCS young people's summer programme is taking place through July and August. We have filled some dates and are still looking for volunteers to go along and talk to the young people about meningitis on Thursdays 25 July, and 8 and 15 August.

Gosfield Triathlon

We are looking for volunteers to take car parking receipts and run an awareness stand on Sunday 7 July.

Email us at volunteering@meningitisnow.org or give us a call on 01453 769 033 if you would like any more information, or if you can help.

Become a Community Volunteer

“I am a passionate believer in what Meningitis Now is doing and about helping to spread awareness of this disease. Sometimes it can be very difficult and very emotional too, but it’s worth it. The respect that goes with volunteering helps make life feel positive.”

Damion - Community Volunteer

“I volunteer in many ways; distributing literature, attending awareness fairs, promoting and assisting with Toddle Waddle events, London Marathon and more. Volunteering is my therapy. I gain so much from it and I always try to be there when I am needed.”

Mary - Community Ambassador
