Kirsty Owen-Hayward

Fundraising Events Manager

Hello! I'm Kirsty, Fundraising Events Manager at Meningitis Now.

The year you joined the charity

August 2015.

A brief overview of your role – what are you responsible for?

I manage the Events team at Meningitis Now. We deliver the following events, supporting our participants on their fundraising journeys: Virgin Money London Marathon, Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100, Great North Run, London Landmarks Half Marathon and our very own Three Peaks Challenge.

Your favourite part of your role

Getting to know our participants in the run up to an event and finally getting the opportunity to meet them and their families on event day. I love seeing the positive impact our events have on people’s lives and the life long memories our events create. It’s wonderful to see people achieve personal goals for a cause close to their hearts.

Your biggest achievements

I have travelled quite a bit to some faraway places, on my own.

Professionally, I recently obtained a Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing, which took a lot of hard work, but I am chuffed to qualify with a distinction.

A fun fact about yourself

I can decorate cakes as I studied cake decoration for three years.
