Lucie Riches
Senior Community Support Officer
Hi, I'm Lucie, Meningitis Now's Senior Community Support Officer
The year you joined the charity
2013.
A brief overview of your role – what are you responsible for?
I work with families and individuals affected by meningitis. I provide one-to-one support, signposting and help accessing support services. I also work with schools, workplaces and with other professionals to help get the right support in place for those affected by meningitis.
I am the point of contact for Meningitis Now support events in the area, such as Family Days and Forever Days. I also moderate the online peer support page on Facebook - ‘Peer Support – Meningitis Now’
Your favourite part of your role
Working alongside such amazing and inspiring individuals and families who never give up fighting against the impact meningitis has on their lives.
Your biggest achievements
Seeing lots of smiles on faces at the end of our lovely Family Days.
A fun fact about yourself
I have a very happy and energetic dog, Pip, who I rescued in 2011. He is 77 years old in human years and shows no sign of slowing down!
