Getting to meet our amazing supporters really is the best part of my roles

Viv Jones

Community Fundraiser, Events Fundraising Assistant

Hi! I'm Viv, Events Fundraising Assistant and Community Fundraiser for Scotland at Meningitis Now.

The year you joined the charity

May 2017.

A brief overview of your role – what are you responsible for?

I wear two hats...

I’m the Events Fundraising Assistant, looking after our event participants in challenges such as the Three Peaks Challenge, Great North Run and RideLondon-Surrey 100. I love being able to go to these events, meeting our amazing supporters and being part of something very special.

I am also the Community Fundraiser for Scotland. I’m new to this role but looking forward to making sure our Scottish fundraisers have the very best experience with us.

Your favourite part of your role

I’m very lucky to spend a lot of my time calling people and building up relationships. When I get an opportunity to go to an event I grab it with both hands as getting to meet our amazing supporters really is the best part of my roles.

Your biggest achievements

Taking part in some of the challenges this year has been a huge personal achievement. Hiking up mountains across the country, sea kayaking and making some fab friendships along the way has been amazing.

A fun fact about yourself

I’ve published two poetry books, performed open mic and I used to be a champion springboard diver.

How you can be contacted

I work part-time but you can always leave me a message on 01453 769 028 or email me at VivienneJ@meningitisnow.org.
