Make this Christmas extra special

19th November 2015

What do you think of when you think of Christmas?

Christmas appeal letterbox
For me, it’s good food, presents, parties, trashy Christmas TV, laughing at grandad when he falls asleep on the sofa after lunch and hanging out with my mates.

Most people would agree it's a time for family, friends and celebration, but for people affected by meningitis is can be a painful reminder of what they’ve lost.

The impact of the ‘Dreaded M’ can be massive and change the everyday things that most of us take for granted. This Christmas, thousands of people across the UK will be experiencing a very different Christmas, learning to cope with the changes meningitis has forced upon them.

It could be getting through the festive period without someone they love, learning to live with a disability or being able to get past the emotional trauma of the disease.

For them, this Christmas may be a painful one.

But you can help.

The support we provide at Meningitis Now is available 365 days a year for as long as it’s needed. Just by texting MNOW to 70007 you can donate £3, helping to fund that support for people who are fighting to get through each day with the effects of meningitis.

The kind of support you can help us fund

£3 – can pay for 100 signs and symptoms cards

£35 – can pay for a family to receive an hour’s tuition of British Sign Language, helping someone who has suffered hearing loss from meningitis to communicate with family and friends

£50 – can pay for one hour of bereavement counselling

We have already achieved so much but there is still a lot more to do. Help us today and bring hope to those affected by this destructive and terrifying disease. Whatever you can give will help us save lives and build a brighter future.

Thank you
