Stories of achievement, inspiration and hope

3rd February 2016

This year we celebrate 30 incredible years since the UK meningitis movement began

Virtual Wall Letterbox
To mark the occasion we want you to share your stories through our online photo-wall.

That might be by telling us what Meningitis Now’s achievements mean to you, shouting about people who have inspired you or thanking your personal ‘heroes’ who have supported you through your meningitis experience.

What will we be left with? A wall of achievement and hope for a future where no one in the UK loses their life to meningitis and everyone affected gets the support they need.

You inspire us

“We are constantly inspired by the courage and determination of families affected by meningitis and we want to showcase as many stories from the last 30 years as we can, and use this inspiration to create national awareness of the ongoing fight against meningitis.’’

Amanda Oxford, Director of Fundraising and Communications

You can submit your stories and photos here any time before our 30th Anniversary on Saturday 15 October 2016.

Exciting events

Our virtual wall isn’t the only thing you can get involved with this year to help mark the occasion. We’re also creating a range of exciting events and activities with a view to raising an additional £2 million to dramatically increase awareness and vaccine uptake.

Look out for the centerpiece of our events - our garden at the world-famous RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May. This will illustrate four inspiring stories from young people we’ve supported – look out for the familiar faces of our Young Ambassadors, Jacob Gray and Louise Greer.

“It’s been an incredible 30 years and we’ve made significant progress in fighting this devastating disease. But we’ve no plans to rest on our laurels and will continue to fight hard for a better today and a brighter future for everyone affected by meningitis.”

Amanda Oxford

Details of all 30th anniversary activities will feature on our website throughout the year.
