Peer Support – Coronavirus Interim Service

Our online forums on Facebook and Health Unlocked remain active, and are being closely moderated by members of our support team. Please feel free to join our members if you feel this will be of benefit to you.

These groups can help you to:

  • Feel less alone following a meningitis experience
  • Connect quickly with a community of people with similar or shared experiences, from the comfort of your own home
  • Learn more about meningitis and its impact

We offer a Facebook Peer Support group and a Facebook Bereavement Support group. These closed and moderated Facebook groups are safe places where you can post stories, ask questions and share your experiences with other people who understand.

To be a member of our Facebook Online Peer Support groups, you will be asked to confirm the nature of your meningitis experience, that you are over 18 years of age and resident in the UK.

Our Meningitis HealthUnlocked forum is for anyone directly or indirectly affected by meningitis. You only need an email address to join and you can remain anonymous if you prefer.

Please note that our online peer support is not a substitute for therapeutic or medical advice. If you feel like your issues and concerns require specialist attention, we encourage you to seek professional guidance. If you are unsure, contact our Helpline on 0808 80 10 388.
