Dealing with the emotional consequences of meningitis can often have a financial impact that may, in some circumstances, deter people from getting the support they so desperately need. This is particularly true in the cases where meningitis has led to the death of a loved one.

As part of our service to help people rebuild their lives following meningitis we can help to fund vital counselling, creative and complementary therapy services across the UK. Designed to help people improve their emotional and mental wellbeing, these services are often seen as the first important step in the journey to recovery.
We offer a range of support services to help people to deal with the devastating impact that meningitis can have on individuals and families. Supporting you close to home is important to us. The following therapies can be arranged so that you don’t have to travel far, making it as easy as possible for you and your family. These include:
- Counselling and bereavement support
- Complementary Therapies – Reflexology, Acupuncture and Cranial Osteopathy
- Creative Therapies for children – Art, Play, Music and Drama
If you feel that you, or someone close to you, would benefit from any of these services and would like to receive an application form or find out more about the criteria for being referred, please call our Meningitis Helpline on 0808 80 10 388, or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our financial support panel meet every month to consider applications and all applicants are informed immediately of the decision.
Therapies are a way of helping you to help yourself but they are not always affordable. I am so grateful for the time and effort that Meningitis Now has extended to both my family and myself. The NHS stopped me from dying and the charity has helped me to continue living. Thank you so very much.
