"Nan and I are forever grateful for all of the support and help we’ve received along the way.”
Nearly 16 years ago, Lily contracted meningitis and septicaemia as a four-week-old baby. She was rushed to hospital with an unusual cry and a burning temperature.
Fortunately, her dramatic story had a happy ending. You can read mum Billie’s account here.
Now, to mark her 16th birthday Lily has decided to do a skydive to mark her recovery and the anniversary. And, what’s more, she’ll be joined by her nan Joanne in taking on the challenge.
Excited beyond words
The intrepid two will take off from Headcorn Airfield in Kent on 22 November and jump from an altitude of 12,000 feet. It’s the first jump for both of them.
Lily has already smashed her fundraising target of £1,000 but there’s still time to add to the pot if you’d like to.
“Thank you to everybody who has donated so far,” Lily said. “We’re only a few days away from the date of our jump now and we are excited beyond words. Please continue to donate and share if you’re able to.
