UKHSA statistics show one in five children starting school aren't fully vaccinated

Latest statistics from the UK health security agency show that as many as 1 in 5 children starting primary school are not fully protected against several serious diseases.

UKHSA statistics suggest as many as one in five children starting school this September might not have had the vaccines that they need to protect them against a whole range of diseases, including meningitis.

Our CEO, Dr Tom Nutt says; “This is a real concern for us at Meningitis Now, where we know all too well the devastating affects of illnesses such as meningitis that can be common within this age group.

“Our message today is a simple one – for any parents of children starting school this September, check their vaccination status, check their red book, or phone up your GP practice to make sure they have had the vaccines that can protect them against disease. This is really important, it could save a life.”
