Kieron's story

16th June 2015

Kathryn, of Gateshead, was told her son, Kieron, aged 17 months, had bronchitis in January this year, but before long he was fighting for his life with meningitis

Kieron's story

She tells their story here.

“Kieron was taken to hospital on 13th January this year. We were told he had bronchitis, but two days later he wouldn't wake up and was vomiting.

Within hours he was fighting for his life with viral meningitis.

He resisted treatment for days until he was changed to different anti-vitals.

He was in hospital for a month and made a full recovery, so we feel very lucky.

I want to tell others who have been misdiagnosed to trust their mother’s instinct and attend hospital if they are worried."
