Supporting universities
As students return to university this autumn, coronavirus will still be on people's minds as it has not gone away, but it's vital we still keep meningitis in mind too
Every university in the UK could experience at least one case of meningitis amongst its students within the first term. If students fall ill, the temptation might be for them to think they have COVID-19 or a hangover, but it could be something else - including meningitis.
Meningitis is a medical emergency, so it's vital to act fast and seek medical assistance to make sure.
We have a wide range of meningitis student awareness resources to support you. These materials help make students aware of the MenACWY vaccination, signs and symptoms to look out for, and the seriousness of meningitis and septicaemia, plus our new 'Don't assume it's COVID' materials.
All resources are available to download, for use on TV screens and computers, and for social media.
