Make a lasting impact the fight against meningitis

Meningitis Now is the UK’s leading meningitis charity. For 40 years we have been saving lives and rebuilding futures through research, awareness and support.

Through this work we save lives and rebuild futures, making an undeniable impact on the lives of thousands. Thanks to the support of our incredible supporters, we have helped reduce cases of this devastating disease across the UK and enabled people affected by meningitis to face the future with hope and confidence.

What our supporters say

Meningitis Now Patron and Ambassador Lord Darzi

As a consultant surgeon, and, most importantly, a meningitis survivor myself, I know how vital the work of Meningitis Now is in fighting back against this devastating disease and supporting those who have been impacted by it. That’s why I’m always pleased to support their vital work where I can, by sharing my knowledge, expertise and networks to help keep the spotlight on meningitis.

Our amazing son, Ryan, was just 16 when we lost him so suddenly to meningitis in 2010. He was full of life – fit, healthy, caring, funny and a talented sportsman. Since then, we’ve dedicated ourselves to working with Meningitis Now to raise awareness of this devastating disease, especially among young adults – the annual student campaign is especially close to my heart. Our hope is that we can help prevent other families from experiencing the heartbreak we have. Looking back on what we’ve achieved over the years, I feel incredibly proud. And I know there’s still so much more we can do together.

My son had meningitis and through our experience I know how vital Meningitis Now’s work is. It has been my pleasure to support the charity for many years, both through raising awareness and funds for the charity. My relationship with the team has allowed me to become involved in many different ways over the years, but the end goal is always helping to raise the vital funds needed to ensure the charity can continue its great work for as long as this remains necessary.

My son Barney lost his life to meningitis in 2005, and since then we have been involved with Meningitis Now. It has been a huge honour to be a Trustee of the charity for the past eight years. It means so much to me to raise money to fight this devastating disease, from our Barney’s Bash balls to rowing the Atlantic. I’m proud that the money we raise helps the charity to save lives – all in memory of Barney.

I am incredibly proud to be a Business Ambassador for Meningitis Now. Knowing first-hand the devastating impact and challenges this disease brings has made me deeply appreciative of the work this charity does. In the past my firm, Carter-Ruck, has been pleased to offer pro-bono support and guidance to Meningitis Now to support their fundraising work. We look forward to building on and strengthening this relationship in the future.
