Hey, I'm Conor. I'm 19, and I've contracted meningitis 3 times in the last 8 years.
I've been completely deaf in my left ear since birth, due to some bones and nerve endings not forming right. Some fissures in the bones allowed a way for the meningitis strains to enter my system, which is why I've been diagnosed with meningitis multiple times. Thankfully, surgery was able to fix this for me.
I know what it's like to go through this illness, and how lonely it can get when you cannot talk to or find people who have gone through the same thing, which is why I want to be a peer mentor.
